This heart is made from two independent hearts. The larger is just dropped into the smaller. Why this? The larger heart is somehow rather easy to weave. But weaving the small heart is difficult. It is likely to crease and break during weaving. I have applied various tricks to the pattern but the strips have a will of self destruction. In particular when you reach the last squares in the point. You must pull back the woven strips as far as they can get towards the blades to make the remaining loose part of the strips as long as possible. It also helps to open the heart like a flat hat and pull the strips from the rear side. When you like the result – you may have to make a few trials – you cut two narrow strips for the handle and glue stick opposite colours to the blades of the smaller heart as indicated on the photo.
